Model 200 Smoke Curtain

Fire protection engineers who need an economical solution to smoke and fire containment for elevator lobbies should consider the M200 Smoke Curtain. In combination with the fire-rated doors used in nearly all elevators, these curtains provide comprehensive and code-compliant draft, smoke and fire control. This particular model is easy to install in nearly any environment and integrates seamlessly with existing fire protection systems to quickly bring a structure up to code.

Smoke curtains slow the spread of smoke through a burning structure and provide people inside more time to escape.  Vertical migration of smoke and flame through elevator shafts is a serious concern for fire protection engineers. The M200 Smoke Curtain is installed in the ceiling above the door to an elevator and is virtually invisible when stowed. When the building smoke detection system activates or the building's power cuts out for a set amount of time, the curtains deploy vertically and drop down to cover the elevator doors. M200 installation is simple, and the curtain's housing can be completely concealed in the ceiling. Two metal rails mounted to the wall guide the curtain down and seal it against the door frame. These rails can be painted to match the building's interior.

The curtain itself is made of our unique transparent material, which allows emergency personnel or individuals on the elevator to see through the curtain after deployment. Both sides of the curtain are equipped with rewind switches that make it easy to retract the curtain so individuals trapped in the elevator can escape.
