Project Profile

Palisades Village

Reconditioning M400/M2100 systems for code-compliant smoke containment.

About the Project

Palisades Village is a high-end, multi-use destination in
Pacific Palisades, featuring boutique retail and upper-floor
residences. After the devastating 2025 Palisades Fire — one
of the most destructive in California history — the center
sustained limited damage but required extensive inspection
and rehabilitation before its planned 2026 reopening.
Smoke Guard’s smoke containment systems played a key
role in protecting critical elevator areas during the event
and were selected again to ensure all life-safety equipment
is fully restored and code compliant.

Design Solution

Smoke Guard restored system performance after the
fire by inspecting, servicing, and repairing the M400
and M2100 units to ensure reliable operation and
continued compliance with smoke and draft control
requirements.

Key Elements of the Solution:

  • Full inspection & testing of all Smoke Guard units
  • Targeted repairs and component replacement on
    one M400 curtain
  • Confirmed integration with fire-rated doors and
    life-safety systems
  • Verified compliance with elevator smoke
    containment codes
  • Fast turnaround to support the property’s repair
    timeline
